Alice Island中唯一一家書店Island Books的店主是三十九歲的A.J.，可是生意不太好，只能勉強經營下去，而且他的妻子幾年前不幸逝世，他決定與所有人保持距離，於是一直孤獨的在書店中生活。直至一天他的典藏被偷走，而一名嬰兒離奇的出現在書店前，他的生活就此改變。
